Support for Low-Income Students at JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research

JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER) is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where every student has equal opportunities to excel, regardless of financial circumstances. To achieve this, we have developed a range of targeted support programs as integrated in our Low Income and First-Generation Students Policy which is the designed to alleviate financial burdens and promote academic success for students from low-income backgrounds.

Housing Subsidies

At JSS AHER, we understand the challenges that affordable housing can pose for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. To address this, we provide:

  • Subsidized Housing Options: Students can access on-campus and off-campus housing at reduced costs.
  • Priority Allocation: Low-income and first-generation students are given priority for university-managed housing accommodations.
  • Support Services: Assistance with finding safe, affordable housing options near campus.The FEE WAIVER MD PRE & PARA initiative supported 9 students, providing financial relief to those in specialized programs.

Transportation Allowances

We strive to make commuting to campus hassle-free and affordable for our students. Financial support is available in the form of:

  • Travel Subsidies: Facilitation to students in accessing public transportation passes.
  • Shuttle Services: Free shuttle services connecting the campus to JSS Hospital at the centre of the Mysore City.
  • Emergency Transportation Support: Assistance for students facing unexpected travel costs.
