At JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER) and JSS Hospital, our commitment to accessible and equitable healthcare extends beyond medical education and research—it is deeply rooted in community service. One of the most impactful initiatives in this regard is the Free Pregnancy and Delivery Care Campaign, aimed at providing high-quality maternal and neonatal care to underprivileged sections of society.
The campaign, which ran from May 25, 2024, to June 30, 2024, successfully facilitated 286 deliveries. This upward trend highlights the growing trust and reliance of the community on JSS Hospital for comprehensive maternal care.
The initiative was made possible through the dedicated efforts of obstetricians, gynecologists, nurses, and non-clinical support staff, who ensured that pregnant women received quality medical attention, emergency obstetric care, and safe deliveries—completely free of cost.
By removing financial barriers to essential maternity services, the campaign played a crucial role in reducing maternal and infant mortality rates, thereby aligning with India’s national health goals and Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 – Good Health & Well-being.
The overwhelming response from patients and the general public underscored the life-changing impact of this initiative. Many beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the affordable and high-quality medical care, which would have otherwise been financially inaccessible. The community has also requested the continuation of the health package, reinforcing the need for sustained efforts in this direction.
Through initiatives like the Free Pregnancy and Delivery Care Campaign, JSS AHER and JSS Hospital continue to bridge healthcare disparities, ensuring that financial constraints do not become a barrier to safe and dignified childbirth. This initiative is a testament to our broader commitment to:
By integrating medical expertise, community engagement, and policy alignment, JSS AHER and JSS Hospital remain at the forefront of healthcare outreach, working towards a healthier, more equitable society.
